What is the Main Street Approach™?

The program advocates improvements in four areas to create a positive, distinctive image and economic success for downtown.

Organization:  Working with public and private sector community leaders to develop consensus and coordinate resources to revitalize downtown.

Marketing (Promotion):  Creating and marketing a positive image of downtown through special events, retail sales, effective advertising and public relations.

Design:  Encouraging quality building rehabilitation and construction, signage, public improvements and window displays to improve the appearance of downtown.

Economic Development (Restructuring):  Improving the economic base of downtown by strengthening existing businesses, recruiting new businesses and filling vacancies.

 

Wilton Manors Main Street is the community of Wilton Manors. Our group is made up of residents, business owners, property owners, area institutions and organizations, elected officials, municipal staff and other interested parties.

Our Vision: The Main Street district of Wilton Manors will be the traditional town center of the community, with "small town charm and urban sophistication."

The Town Center will provide a pedestrian friendly environment for all types of people to enjoy and afford living, shopping, dining, arts, culture and entertainment, special events, and other business and municipal activities. Future development will include abundant parking, landscaped streets, public art, sidewalks and open spaces for public use.

Our Mission: To create an environment on Wilton Drive where commerce, art and housing enthusiastically coexist and provide mutual nourishment."
